Breakfast.

Day to discover Tbilisi and Georgian culture.

Georgia is no longer a post-soviet rundown, but one of Eastern Europe’s sophisticated capital.

The itinerary is an incredible way to discover the hidden treasures of Tbilisi and stroll through the houses of the most important cultural artistic figures of Georgia, come upon the traditional carved balconies, old houses clinging from the cliffs, co-called Italian backyards, and more undiscovered places. The real soul of the city lays in the very small details, which can be discovered through the path we have created.

Lunch break at Salobie Bia, a restaurant dedicated to Western Georgian cuisine and to the lobio dish. Lobio is a popular red beans stew, usually served in a clay pot with a corn bread. Apart from great food and a very good choice of wines, the restaurant is interesting because of its unique design – big paintings of modern Georgian artists, minimalist wood furniture and lovely restored details from the Soviet times.

In the afternoon we will continue to discover the city in an authentic and original way including a stop at the MILK café in Fabrika where one of the best coffees is served together with a variety of small cakes and pies.

Dinner at Cafe Littera where the progressive Georgian cuisine meets history. It is located in an impressive courtyard behind the house of Georgian writers in a building of over 120 years, and once belonged to the father of the Georgian brandy – Davit Sarajashvili – who built the place as a gift to his wife.

Saturday June 15, 2019

Breakfast.

A unique experience and a great opportunity to discover the cultural character of the country, meet Propaganda owners and artists to immerse themselves in the modern artistic culture of Georgia and discover the value of creative freedom.

Art organization Propaganda, was funded in 2017 by an initiative group, which saw the necessity of systemic vision and consistent work within the cultural climate of the developing country.

We will continue with a special experience in the Georgian tradition: a moment of relaxation in the sulfur baths. Abanotubani (Georgian: აბანოთუბანი, literally “bath district”) is the ancient district of Tbilisi, Georgia, known for its sulphuric baths.

Located at the eastern bank of the Mtkvari River at the foot of Narikala fort across Metekhisubani, Abanotubani is an important historic part of the city: it is where according to a legend the King of Iberia, Vakhtang Gorgasali’s falcon fell, leading to a discovery of the hot springs and, subsequently, to founding of a new capital.

Lunch during the excursion

Free time to discover the Dry Bridge market and to explore unexplored corners of the city.

In the late afternoon you will reach Kunsthalle Tbilisi, an itinerant exhibition space, founded by Irena Popiashvili and Lika Chkuaseli, which exhibit an eclectic mix of Georgian and international art.

Along with Irena Popiashvili, the renowned Shavi Lomi restaurant dinner, will be served at the spa. The restaurant was created by the famous local chef Meriko Gubeladze, who lived in New York. Meriko puts his creativity and originality reworking dishes of Georgian cuisine.

Continuing to reach the prestigious Chateau Mukhrani winery where the winemaker and owner, Patrick Honnef, will visit the cellars and will organize a tasting of Georgian wines.

Lunch at the cellar.

Arrival at the Kazbeki Hotel the Gergeti Trinity Church – (Georgian: წმინდა სამება – Tsminda Sameba) is a popular name for Holy Trinity Church near the village of Gergeti. The church is situated on the right bank of the river Chkheri (the left tributary of the river Terek), at an elevation of 2170 meters (7120 feet), under Mount Kazbegi.

The Gergeti Trinity Church, was built in the 14th century, and is the only cross-cupola church in Khevi province. The separate bell tower dates from the same period as the church itself. Its isolated location on top of a steep mountain surrounded by the vastness of nature has made it a symbol for Georgia

Return and dinner in the renowned restaurant of the Kazbegi hotel.

A meeting and a memorable experience with the sculptor of stone faces Merab Piranishvili.

He is a talented sculptor and artist who sculpts stones and creates masterpieces, most of which remain invisible throughout his life. His house is the laboratory at the same time. He does not have so many visitors and is always ready to show all his works with pride. One of his greatest works was on the road to the village of Sno.

We will continue to the village of Juta for a trekking in an evocative landscape until reaching the Fifth Season shelter at 2,360 meters above sea level. It is the perfect place to enjoy the mountains and a breathtaking view of the Chaukhistskali river.
