A marvelous Himalayan Kingdom where prior to 1974, no traveller had set foot. A corner of heaven squeezed between China and India, with only 700.000 inhabitants.

This is an experience for the chosen few, who will walk next to the locals, listening to the swishing of their traditional attire, the gho and the kira. The religious artwork and colorfull fabrics will colour your memories, whilst the temples and baths with boiling stones will nurture your spirit.

Here, your total internal happiness is far more important than the GNP.

Monday, November 11, 2019

Trekking to the famous Tiger’s Nest monastery will be a unique experience and one of the highlights of your trip to Bhutan.

Tiger’s Nest should be reached as early as possible, so that you will have the chance to explore it in full peace and quiet. After an early breakfast you will drive 40 minutes to the starting point of the excursion and then just 2 -4 hours of climbing and trekking to Tiger’s Nest .

A guide and a further companion will be with the participants, so that they can be divided into two groups: this just to respect everyone’s pace. The path to the monastery is wide and unpaved.

It is uphill all the way, but not excessively steep. Most people can climb it.

The Tiger’s Nest was built in 1692 around the cave where Guru Rinpoche meditated for the first time. That event introduced Buddhism to Bhutan. According to a legend Guru Rinpoche was transported from Tibet to this position on the back of a tiger, giving it the name of “Tiger’s Nest”.

Nowadays this monastery consists of four temples with residential housing for the monks. Despite the daily visits of tourists, Paro Takstang still functions as a monastery today.

If you arrive early enough, it will be possible for you to do a short meditation session in one of the many sacred rooms of the Tiger’s Nest.

After your visit you will descend and go back to the resort.

Lunch at the resort.

After that trekking morning you will have the opportunity to try a traditional hot stone bath based on 5 healing herbs.

In the afternoon you can take part in a special Bhutanese cooking class offered by one of the Sanctuary chefs.

In the evening you will have a Bhutanese family style dinner, so that you can taste the Bhutanese cuisine in the best possible atmosphere.

At night you can sit around the outdoor fireplace with other participants and enjoy some home-made snacks and drinks.

Tuesday, November 12, 2019

You will have the chance to choose between a day of Bhutan discovery or a last day of personal well-being dedicated to your inner self and contemplation. Even just being in nature is another way to find inner peace and connect to the essence of this extraordinary country called Bhutan.

Those who want further culture deepening, will reach Thimphu, the current capital of Bhutan, after one and a half hour’s journey.

Various places can be visited, such as the Giant Golden Buddha, the Royal Textile Academy, the Choki Art School, some craft galleries or a museum;

At lunch time someone special will initiate you to some interesting aspects of Bhutanese life.

In the evening the hotel staff will help participants to wear typical Bhutanese costumes.

A gourmet dinner will celebrate your last night in Bhutan and at the Sanctuary.

A short performance of traditional Bhutanese dances will be offered over dinner by the Zatsang members: a last emotion of that culture and country.

Wednesday, November 13, 2019

You will have the chance to start the day with a healthy physical or mental activity in the wellness center: yoga, meditation, gym, swimming pool.

After a healthy breakfast you can devote yourself to your last morning of relaxation and personal well-being.

The Buddha says: “Every morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most”.
